WEBCLIP - MSF Emergency clinic after the Moria fire

"We are standing outside the new MSF emergency clinic. Since the fire blazed and destroyed the whole of Moria. We have to set up this emergency clinic to reach the thousands of people here, stranded on the streets without any access to medical care. People are frightened and they know that going to another camp like Moria again. It is not the answer. It is a hopeless situation. Creating another Moria won't solve that. It is just a cyclical nightmare. Since the EU-Turkey deal started in 2016, every year MSF has seen the same traumas: Severe mental health problems, other medical issues associated with living in horrendous conditions. We know the EU states are willing to provide funds or goods, or aid to support in this emergency but that is not going to solve the situation.The only way to solve this, it is for the EU states and the Greek mainland to take these people from the island and put them into a safe accommodation where they can try, at least, to have some dignity and start a new life again.
