The EU and its partners are forging a new world together : in this world, over 20,000 people have died trying to cross the Mediterranean to Europe since 2014.
Undeterred by the tragedy, the European Union is pursuing its policy of doing whatever it takes to turn people away and prevent sea search and rescue operations.

The Open Arms is now the only ship still capable of carrying out search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean. Six search and rescue vessels, including Sea Watch 4 MSF is deployed on, are still being detained for alleged breaches of maritime safety regulations. We are asking for the release of the ships.
