End of Ebola Outbreak in West Africa: 14th January 2016 (Audiovisual Material)

As Liberia today celebrates 42 days without any new Ebola infections - effectively marking the end of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, the international medical humanitarian organisation Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) calls on the global health community to draw on lessons learnt in order to be better prepared for similar outbreaks. MSF is also continuing its Ebola activities in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea through running support clinics for Ebola survivors.

Here there is an animation that provides a historical overview of MSF’s intervention in West Africa from the early days of the outbreak up until the end. Also in this package the testimony of two Ebola survivors (Fanta & Ibrahim) from Guinea who were among the first to receive treatment, and are now working with MSF helping other Ebola survivors to cope with issues such as stigma.
