Many refugees in Greece with severe medical conditions are facing eviction from their homes.

They are cut off from cash assistance and left in the streets

Without access shelter, protection or regular healthcare.

Amidst a government pledge
to evict over 11,000 refugees
from supported housing,

at least 30 MSF patients with serious medical conditions
have been evicted or notified of eviction.

In June, an extremely vulnerable MSF patient died from a cardiac arrest

after she was threatened with eviction and left her home.

"We have a lot of vulnerable people with very sever health problems;
diabetes under insulin treatment with cardiovascular disease, with hyper tension, with epilepsy, with asthma,

and they are in danger of being evicted from their homes without any shelter, without meals, without anything.

This is something that is very difficult for us and very dangerous for their health and their mental health

We have to help them at least to have a shelter where they can protect themselves and protect their health."

MSF is calling on the Greek government
to identify housing solutions for refugees,
to protect the most vulnerable people,
and stop evictions now.
