Juana

From Iraq 2 years old now she was 8 months when her dad and mom stepped on a land mine
her dad died instantly her mom was paralyzed and got shrapnel in her lungs and Juana had shrapnel in her leg, it was during ISIS occupation in Mosul
after trying to treat the mom in the house the family decided to run away from Mosul
The grandmother carried Juana and the grandfather and Juana’s mom brother carried her.
While they are running Juana’s mom and her brother was shot by sniper and died instantly.

Now Juana’s grandparents are taking care of her she’s accompanied with her grandmother in RSP since December 2018.
they did for her a surgery and she took her first step in RSP hospital by using walker.

Abdulbari
From Yemen 7 years old.
he was 5 years when an explosion happened while they were at home
The whole family e=was wounded Abdulbari brother passed away.
Abdulbari had his arm and leg amputated he received treatment in MSF hospital in Aden first
And then they sent him to RSP for his prosthetics.
He’s very active of life his prosthetics doesn’t prevent him from running around and playing football.
Abdulbari he went to school only for 2 days before the explosion he stopped for 2 years
And now he’s joining RSP school.
According to his teacher she said “he’s very sharp and never missed a class.”

Ekhteiar.
From Yemen 13 years old.
She was 4 years old when her sister was trying to cook and then the gas exploded
She was severely burned almost every part of her body she went to several hospitals and now she’s
In RSP receiving treatment she had many maxillofacial surgeries.
Ekhteiar very conscious about her injury before she wasn’t comfortable to go out
Because of the people look at her.
now she feels more confident after many surgeries she said:
“Am happy now because at least I can recognize myself when I look in the mirror.”
Eyad
From Gaza 23 years old.
He was shot in the Marsh of return in May and led to bone fractures and nerves roots cut off.
He was transfer to RSP hospital in Amman and had a successful surgery.
Eyad like to call himself a musician as he plays many instruments he’s favorite instrument is Nai
(Arabic flute) so while he was in the hospital he didn’t want to waste his time so he managed to
Make a Nai out of his crutches.
Eyad is pretty popular in the hospital Every time he’s in the hospital people gather around him and ask him to play some music.
His dream is to go to Arabic music contest such as (Arab idol and the Voice) he was contacted
From some people trying to get him to this contest unfortunately didn’t work because getting
Him a visa was impossible.
He also managed to learn some magic tricks.
Eyad was waiting for his permeation to go back to Gaza and he will continue his physio therapy treatment in MSF clinic in Gaza.


Jamal
From Iraq 29 years old.
He studies Islamic science.
He’s from Mosul and tried to run away to Karkook from ISIS but he was detained by ISIS
For 20 days and the they let him out.
He managed to escape to Karkook and the he got a job in a bakery.
While he was working in the bakery the explosion happened it was a
Domestic accident.
He got burns in his hand and ear and chest.
Jamal likes to read a lot of books about success.
Every day in the afternoon he goes to sit and watch the sunset from a little hill opposite
to RSP hospital.
He’s doing a master now in Islamic philosophy.
