Jordan has recorded its first case of corona virus on March 2, 2020. The total number of cases is 831 and number of deaths has reached 9 cases and 627 recovered. No official announcement on medical staff affected by the virus so far.

Currently MSF covers medical care for chronic conditions in its 2 NCD clinics in Irbid norther Jordan. MSF is helping by providing life-saving medications and follow up consultations free of charge. The treatment package also includes patient education, motivational behaviour and lifestyle changes. The patients are 70% Syrians refugees and 30% vulnerable Jordanians.
MSF team in Irbid north Jordan had to make some changes and adapt to the current COVID-19 measures in the country as quickly as the first case of COVID 19 was confirmed and reported in Jordan. This meant that our patients suddenly couldn’t come to the NCD clinics for treatment and follow up with MSF medical team. MSF adapted its program as quick as they could and within days to continue providing medical care and medications to our patients. MSF was able to deliver large numbers of medication to 3,400 patients, following infection prevention measures.
