On 18 October, 2019, Ocean Viking completed the third rescue of its third rotation at see, responding to a boat in distress with 104 people on board, including 40 minors (31 unaccompanied) and 2 pregnant women. All 104 people were brought safely on board Ocean Viking, and are waiting to be assigned a place of safety to disembark.

SCRIPT
(00:00) Quand on a fait un convoi à Zuwara (Libye), il y avait trop de monde.
When we were on the caravan to Zuwara (in Libya), there were too many people.

(00:05) Ma tante s’est battue pour entrer dans le zodiac avec son fils.
My aunt fought to get onto the rubber boat with her son.

(00:09) Moi, j’ai essayé de courir aussi pour entrer dans le zodiac.
I tried to run as well, to get onto the rubber boat.

(00:13) [Le passeur,] il m’a attrapée.
[The smuggler,] he caught me.

(00:16) Il a dit que non, qu’il y a un autre zodiac, que c’est là-bas que je vais entrer.
He said, “no, there is another rubber boat,” and I was to go on that one.

(00:21) Donc, ma tante – elle est partie.
So my aunt – she left.

(00:24) J’ai été traumatisée, franchement,
I have been traumatised, honestly,

(00:26) parce que dans le premier zodiac avec ma famille,
because the first rubber boat, the one my family was on,

(00:30) où était ma tante et son fils, et tous les gens
the one my aunt and her son were on, with all the people

(00:33) avec qui on était – tous sont morts.
we had been with – they all died.

(00:36) Il n’y a pas eu un survivant.
Nobody survived.

(00:38) Donc j’ai décidé de ne plus prendre la mer
So I decided not to try crossing the sea [again]

(00:40) pour un bon bout de temps.

(00:42) La tante et le cousin de Fleur ont péri au cours de leur troisième tentative de traverser la mer Méditerranée.
Fleur’s aunt and cousin died on their third attempt to cross the Mediterranean.

(00:48) Fleur a survécu. Le bateau à bord duquel elle se trouvait a été intercepté, et Fleur a été retournée de force en Libye ou elle sera détenue.
Fleur survived, but the boat she boarded was intercepted and she was returned to detention in Libya.

(00:54) A sa quatrième tentative de traverser la mer Méditerranée, Fleur et les 103 autres survivants ont été secourus par l'Ocean Viking.
On her fourth attempt to cross the sea, Fleur and 103 additional survivors were rescued by Ocean Viking.
