Suddenly, there was a massive explosion inside the hospital.
Unfortunately, it was a direct strike
on the inpatient department and the operating theatre.

On-screen text: Rami is an MSF nurse. He used to work in Al-Awda, one of the main hospitals in northern Gaza. Like many others, Al-Awda was besieged, attacked and stormed by the Israeli army.

Three of our fellow doctors were killed in the strike.
Several others were injured.
A patient and a patient’s companion were also killed.
And nothing is harder than burying your colleague with your own hands,
then returning minutes later to continue working.
Because there was no other decision to make.
No other option.
The injured kept coming.
To this moment,
the image never leaves my mind.
My colleagues, who were with me seconds earlier -
killed, buried under rubble.
Maybe it’s shameful for a man to admit fear,
but it was constant fear, moment to moment.
Because the attacks on the hospital never stopped.
