Additional Information / Shotlist A gamechanger in HIV prevention is now here: lenacapavir (LEN), an injection which only needs to be given twice a year and is nearly 100% effective in preventing HIV. However, Gilead, the drug company that manufactures LEN, is keeping it out of reach for many people in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Gilead sells LEN at very high prices (over $28,000 per person per year in the US), severely restricts its supply to certain countries, and refuses to sell it directly to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
MSF is calling on Gilead to:
* Reduce the price of LEN to less than $40 per person per year in all LMICs
* Increase its global supply to match actual demand
* Sell LEN directly to MSF and others
