He was bitten in the morning hours while exiting his home. His older brother had been bitten three times in the past, when he had always been treated with traditional medicine. He had always survived the bites yet he remembers suffering a lot in the cure processes.

He had recently heard about MSF through some patients that had been treated by the medical teams there and were explaining about their satisfactory experiences. As a result, when his younger brother got bitten and the family wanted to take him to the traditional healer, the oldest brother insisted that he shoudl go to MSF for his treatment.

They had to pay 8,000 birr for a tuktuk to take them to the clinic, when, before the fuel crisis, they would normally pay around 3,000 birr.
