On 21 June 2016, Jordan completely sealed its borders with Syria. This decision has deprived more than 75,000 Syrians, 75% of them women and children, of access to essential medical care. MSF was forced to halt its operations at the Berm 23 days after providing basic healthcare. Now, with winter arriving, the humanitarian and health situation of Syrians living in already dire conditions is expected to deteriorate as they remain without access to proper medical care for the fifth consecutive month.
