Additional Information / Shotlist Mohammad Ibrahim Jouma’a, 24, was born in Libya to Sudanese parents. He left Libya a year ago.
You can’t live in Libya anymore. Since the revolution, there are armed militias everywhere and there’s constant fighting.
Nonstop troubles, guns and shootings...
Libyans are very hard-headed people.
I was a daily worker back in Libya. I would take on whatever job I could find
to earn money to help support my mother.

Mohammad decided to leave for Europe. He was crammed onto a small boat in Zuwara along with 350 other people, including women and children.
They said, “Get on the boat. Europe’s over there, that’s what you asked for!”
It was a tough journey. We spent 7 long days at sea.
7 days at sea because the engine broke down.
It worked well the first 4 days but then we ran out of fuel.
We tried so hard to keep going, looking out for someone to rescue us. At last, the Italian coastguards spotted us.

Mohammad has been living in the ‘Jungle’ in Calais, in northern France
For 10 months now. He hopes to join his cousin in London soon.
I need a better life and a good job so I can support my family back in Sudan and Libya.
But here in Europe, even dreams are impossible.
We need a safe place to live, and a better life.
We need democracy and freedom. We want to live freely.
The most important thing for a human is to have freedom
and not simply to move from small prisons back home to big prisons like this place here.
This is a prison, a real prison. And we’re prisoners here. It's a big prison.
