Current treatment regimens for multidrug-resistant TB can cause nausea, blindness and psychosis, and last up to two years – after which only half of patients are cured. That’s why MSF is running TB-PRACTECAL, a pioneering clinical trial to find shorter, less toxic, more effective treatment regimens. The trial has been operational since 2017 on sites in Belarus, South Africa and Uzbekistan.
