We’re waiting for the green light from Yemen before we send the supplies – medication, cold chain materials and logistical equipment.

In 2017, MSF chartered over 200 flights to Yemen

All travel by MSF teams in Yemen needs to be approved by Saudi Arabian officials
Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have led the international military coalition’s intervention in Yemen since March 2015

In 2017, we submitted 683 travel requests, land and air included. Requests for land travel concern activities inside of Yemen, when a team needs to travel for a vaccination campaign or to a hospital.
Similarly, we need to negotiate authorisation for each flight to Yemen too.

Deployed in 12 of Yemen’s governorates, MSF is working in 13 hospitals and health centres and providing support to over 20 medical facilities
