I came to Libya to find work two and a half years ago. Uniformed men arrested me without any reason. They detained me in a prison. The guards beat us all the time.

There were many infections and no medical care. I saw a man die who slept in front of me. He was tied at his legs and his arms, and we found him dead one morning.

We just received a bit of bread and some water once a day. We had so little space in our room that we had to sleep in shifts, some always had to stand. There was no toilet, we just received little buckets.

Everyone had to call his family and make them pay for the release. They wanted 250.000 naira (almost 700 euros).

This is their business with black Africans. As soon as we payed, they would put us on a boat in the Mediterranean. This was the only way out of this prison.

When I entered the boat, I was ready to die. Never again Libya! Libya is hell. I never saw a country which is so unstable and dangerous.
